The official website for 'Paranormal Activity' announced the DVD and Blu-ray release on December 29th. What a way to ring out the year. The $15,000 film that made over $100 million became a phenominon and also a bit of a controversial film among horror fans. There were those of us that were creeped out by the film (I saw it at the first free showing two weeks before it was released) and recommended it to people. Some people saw it and loved it. Some people didn't but left it at that. While others hated it and decided to go on a rampage about it. One person went as far to say that "anyone who liked it must be retarded." How nice. I guess nothing gets people rangled like politics, religion, and a little film that was made for no money and goes on to be a success.
I for one am excited for this release and can't wait to see it again at home with the lights out.

There were people who really didn't like this? =S
I know that audience reactions ranged from being so freaked out that they had to leave in the middle of the movie and laughing out loud at many scenes (?!?!), but I can't imagine why anyone would be upset enough to attack those who liked it. (Heck, I couldn't stand New Moon, but I picked on the movie, not on the fans!)
I was pretty surprised. A friend of mine and I used to come across some really angry people. I couldn't understand why. It's not like it's a political film or something that causes debate. It's a ghost movie. Either it works for you or it doesn't. Did for me. Glad it did for you too.
